Fields of Peace, which initially evolved as an adult extension of its parent, Peace Village Inc., is described in detail elsewhere on this website.  Peace Village Inc., recently renamed Peace Village Global, was founded in 1994 with the expressed goal of teaching children how to solve conflicts nonviolently.  Today, Peace Village Global oversees and supports the operation of 26 recurring, five-day, summer camps for children ages 6 to 13 from all faiths and ethnicities.  These camps are currently located in 11 U.S. states and the first African camp will be launched in Kenya shortly.



Charles Busch, founder of Peace Village and Fields of Peace, has served as a parish minister for 20 years.  He is Ordained in the United Church of Christ and holds a Business Administration Degree from Trinity University, Master of Arts Degree (Philosophy) from Trinity University and Master of Divinity Degree from Harvard University.  He is a former Partner and Executive Vice President of U.E. Systems in New York City.  He served 8 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.  He lives in Lincoln City, Oregon with his wife Cathey.

Rod De Luca, holds a Professional Engineering Degree from the Colorado School of Mines and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.  He spent the majority of his 55-year working life in the international oil and gas industry, most recently as President of Calgary-based Bow Valley Industries’ U.S. oil and gas, contract drilling and real estate subsidiary headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Today, Rod and his wife Susie reside in Depoe Bay, Oregon.
