Igniting the world with A Promise to Our Children
Ignite Circles is the critical link between Making a Promise and bringing peace to the world.
Fields of Peace launched this pilot program in 2021 as a catalyst to building a global, grassroots movement to stop the killing of children in war.
An Ignite Circle is a small group of connected individuals who gather—in person or online—for a 4-week study featuring our signature resource, A Field Guide to Peace, Through shared contemplation and ignited by a deeper commitment to The Promise, participants, in turn, create their own Ignite Circles and lead others to Make Promise to Our Children.
The vision of the Ignite Circles initiative is an ever-expanding array of Circles that spread from community to community, country to country, all over the world. Within a decade, we will see citizen-led, systemic change: people everywhere serving notice to their governments and leadership to end militarism and commit to solving conflicts through nonviolent means.
This critical initiative prioritizes regions where the devastation and destruction of war continue to kill and maim children at rates never seen in the history of the world. It has found early success in places like South Sudan, Kenya, Cameroon, and India. Through contemplation of The Promise and study of A Field Guide to Peace, individuals all over the world elevate their levels of conscience and challenge the accepted narrative that war-making—and the killing of children—is a justifiable way to resolve international conflict.
By cultivating learning communities person-by-person Ignite Circles connect people who desire bold societal change. Our program aims to achieve long term peace through personal activism—starting on the personal level with people willing to change themselves, then growing to the collective level where communities discover together the necessary changes to achieve long-term peace.
You may not view yourself as an activist, but by simply making A Promise to Our Children you will spark heightened consciousness within your heart, activate a call for change, and ignite peace in your community—and in the world.
